Grantown Window Cleaners was formed in October 2013 when, finding herself at a crossroads in life, Rebecca Stanton made the decision to take over a small window cleaning round whose operator was leaving the area.  She cleaned her first window using a modified bike trailer carrying all the equipment and her baby, and she hasn’t looked back since.

After well over a year of pedal powered operations within Grantown, Beccy realised that it wasn’t just people living in town who wanted clean windows. Lots of people in the surrounding area, often with houses at the end of remarkably steep and bumpy tracks did too.  In order to meet the demand she set about designing a waterfed pole system that could fit in the boot of a Fiat Panda. After much time in the shed, plenty of time on the internet and a fair bit of making it up as she went along, Walter (or Wally the Trolley) was ready to go.

The bike continued as the main method of transport in town and, along with the baby in the back, the rounds both in and out of town continued to grow. Eventually the Panda could no longer carry enough purified water to supply the further afield jobs. It was time to find a bigger car that could manage more water barrels.  However, the lifting and lugging of water barrels soon began to take its toll and it wasn't long before the bigger car got a tow bar added and another project got under way in the shed!

With new customers appearing almost every time Beccy left the house, it was inevitable that more change would be coming soon. During the winter of 2017/18, Beccy began designing and building a van setup with the capacity for 2 workers and embarked on the terrifying process of becoming an employer.  The baby in the trailer is now making his way through primary school and now only “works” on Sundays and during school holidays.
